Root Your Android Phones!!

Rooting Means, Accessing the Root(Administrator) Privileges on Android phones.

Before we continue, You should Know the Pros and cons of rooting the Android Phone.
Pros:
  • Without rooting, you can’t enjoy the Android 4.0 or even 4.1 flavor on your own smartphone, You can install custom ROMS…
  • Practically Control the Internal Features of Phone, You can Tranfer even the pre-installed apps to SD Card.
  • Solves the Problem of “Low Memory Space” in android phones
  • Its Like Injecting Super powers in Phone. 😉
Cons:
  • ITS NOT OFFICIAL, so WARRANTY VOID( But you can root your phone, if its atleast 1 yrs of age)
  • If Done Wrong, Your Phone is a Brick. ( You can use it to play doctor doctor with your children after that…). 😉
Some prerequisites:
  •  Phone should be fully Charged, to be on safer side.
  •  Make sure you have a SD Card(Secondary Memory) in your Phone.
  •  File that will Root the Phone.
  •  Completely Backup your phone. (Use suitable Applications)
  • Enable the USB debugging option by going to “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”.

Ok now, Starting with the procedure of rooting your Android Phone, In my case its Samsung galaxy Y S5360.
  1. First of all, download the root package (from hyperlinks given above) and place the file on your computer.
  2. Then, connect the phone with the PC by using its USB cable.
  3. Copy the downloaded file from the computer to the phone’s SD card(Not in any folder).
  4. Remove the USB cord and turn off the Galaxy Y.
  5. Reboot by pressing the Volume UP Key, OK button and Power button together.

  6. Then, select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.

  7. Now, just pick the downloaded package from the SD card and flash the same.
  8. The process will take a while so don’t worry, just wait until it’s completed.
  9. In the end select “go back” and “reboot system now”.
  10. Now, download the Root Checker app from Google Play and see if your Galaxy Y was rooted or not.
Congratulations, Now you have rooted phone. Use it like Rajnikant.!!
